Description
Wading birds are known to nest above alligator-infested waters because they know that the alligators will protect their nests from raccoons and possums. But in this photo from the Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge outside Savannah, Georgia, USA, it sure looks to me like the alligator would make a snack out of this black-crowned night heron if given the chance!
