William Tasker was a beloved administrator of the Wild Birds of the World group here on Fine Art America. Every time I submitted a photo of a mourning dove, he always commented, "I love those birds." This week I was in my back yard trying to snap a photo of a downy woodpecker, and I almost didn't even notice this dove sitting on a branch right above me. It just sat there quietly for the longest time, barely moving. This one's in honor of you, William. RIP.

I'm constantly amazed by the intricacies in the small things all around us... the tiny veins in a flower petal, the metallic blue luster of a dragonfly's wing, the downy feathers on a baby bird... the beauty is everywhere. I love the challenge of trying to capture these fine details in my photographs.
