This is Pebbles, and African spurred tortoise who has found a home at the Autrey Mill Nature Preserve in Alpharetta, Georgia. Handsome fella, right?

I'm constantly amazed by the intricacies in the small things all around us... the tiny veins in a flower petal, the metallic blue luster of a dragonfly's wing, the downy feathers on a baby bird... the beauty is everywhere. I love the challenge of trying to capture these fine details in my photographs.
